About D’HoPE Summer Program
The D’HoPE Summer Program at UBC Okanagan is a summer program designed to help equity-denied youth and young adults from outside of the Vancouver Lower Mainland develop sustained interest in a health profession education program of their choice. Equity-denied groups include, but are not limited to, people who identify as disabled, first in their family or community to attend post-secondary, Indigenous, racialized, living in rural or remote communities, economically disadvantaged, and/or 2SLGBTQIAP+. At this program you will:
- Meet practitioners and students from the health professions and engage in mentorship & connection opportunities
- Familiarize yourself with the offered health professions programs at UBC, including Medicine, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, and Social Work. Learn about the admissions process, scholarship & funding info, and more.
- Visit research, clinical, and teaching sites in the interior for the UBC health profession programs.
This is a five-day program running from July 14th to 18th, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily, held at the UBC Okanagan campus in Kelowna.
