Eligibility

In a world where equity and accessibility are more important than ever, the UBC Faculty of Medicine welcomes and encourages all learners to pursue their dreams of becoming a doctor. We want our future learners to be as diverse as the communities they will end up serving and we are committed to a policy of inclusiveness, equity, and transparency. If your dream is to become a doctor, you’re in the right place.

As Diverse As You

Our unique distributed learning model is designed to train doctors in a wide range of communities across British Columbia, including rural, northern, and island areas, where we hope many will choose to practice after they graduate.

We see a genuine advantage in having people from different backgrounds bring different perspectives to our program, so we consider all applicants regardless of age, ancestry, economic status, place of origin, race, religion, family status, marital status, physical or mental disability, political belief, gender, or sexual orientation. We are looking for well-rounded individuals who are curious and committed to putting in the work to become a health professional. Highly motivated, mature individuals who have a genuine concern for human welfare and showcase qualities of excellence consistently connect to spots in our program.
